Node Content: Todos, Notes, Comments, Tags, Icons, Links, Cloze, Formulas, and Images

Select a node and press ⌘ ⌥ X; a checkbox appears on the node's left. Click the checkbox to mark it done and the node switches to its completed look.

The todo state is stored in the map and survives export and sharing.

No need to remember the shortcut: right-click the node and choose "Add Todo" — it does exactly the same thing.

Check the box the same way; open the menu again to remove the todo.

Press ⌘ ⌥ N to open the notes panel. The editor is already focused, so type and click Save.

After saving, a note card shows next to the node — the place for details that don't belong in the node text.

Right-click the node and choose "Notes" to open the same panel.

The panel is identical to the shortcut route; use whichever you prefer.

Notes are a full rich-text editor: select text to make it bold or change its colour, and click Fx in the toolbar to insert an inline formula.

Type the LaTeX in the popover, click Apply to insert it, then Save the note.

Press ⌘ ⌥ M to open the comments panel, click the input, write the comment and click Add. Every comment is time-stamped.

Notes are a single description of the node; comments are a running list of remarks about it.

Right-click the node and choose "Comment" to open the same comments panel.

Comments are listed in order and can be edited or deleted one by one.

Right-click the node; the top of the menu is a row of quick-action icons. Click the tag icon, type the tag, and press Enter to create the chip.

Tags show under the node text, and a node can carry several.

Right-click the node, click the icon quick action, pick a slot, then choose from the built-in icon library.

Icons show to the left of the node text; multiple slots let you stack different icons.

Right-click the node, click the link quick action, enter the URL in the links panel and click "Add external link".

A link badge appears on the node; click it to open the page. Click empty canvas to close the panel.

Double-click to edit, select the phrase to hide, and click "Cloze" in the toolbar. After committing, the phrase is blurred out.

Hover the blank to reveal the answer; move away and it hides again — built for recall practice.

While editing, type a space then /, choose "Formula" from the slash menu, and type LaTeX in the popover; the preview renders live.

Press ⌘ Enter or click Apply to insert it, then Enter to commit the node.

The toolbar only appears when text is selected: press ⌘ A to select the node text, then click the Fx button at the right end of the toolbar.

The same formula popover follows — a quick way to replace placeholder text with a formula.

The fastest route is typing $a^2+b^2=c^2$ straight into the text: the moment the closing $ lands, the content renders as a formula.

$$…$$ produces a block formula, and plain numbers such as prices are left alone.

Right-click the node, click the image quick action, then "Insert image" in the image panel and choose a file.

The image sits above the node text by default; the panel lets you move it to the top, bottom, left, or right.

Drag the image off its node towards another node; four drop zones — top, bottom, left, right — appear over the target.

Release in a zone and the image attaches to that side of the target node.
